As a certified Google Partner, we are excited to be able to share with you the many resources and technologies Google has to offer small businesses.

The Google Partners Connect Live Stream today was all about connecting with your customer online. The presentation started out with connecting up with Todd Rowe, managing director of Global Channel Sales at Google.

 Who’s your competition?

Once a seemingly easy question to answer – the store across town, the answer now has become global, and your competition is really Market Awareness. You need people to know about you! A staggering 97% of customers in the US do consumer research online, yet only 37% of small businesses have a website. Let me repeat:

97% of customers are looking online while 37% of small businesses have a website.

Talk about a lost opportunity!

This wide variance is because of three misconceptions – all of which, Google (and Seapoint Digital) can help you fix.

Small businesses think of three things when considering technology and being online: Time, Perceived Complexity, and Cost.

  1. Time is important to all of us, especially small business owners. The most important part, though, is to Get Started! The market opportunity will close as those 97% of customers looking for your product find what they’re looking for. But the real question is – will they be able to find you? Remember, the greatest competition is market awareness – they need to know about you in order to shop with you.
